“The hotel itself is lovely and the staff we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean though relatively small, which is no surprise for any older city hotel. However, our thermostat would not go below 76, so the room was very uncomfortable. And the surrounding area was fairly rundown, with an Amtrak station across the street that attracts a fair number of homeless people. On a Saturday night in December there were a decent number of people lined up at the club across the street, and a strong smell of marijuana in the hotel lobby. There is a small patch of grass across the street for dogs to relieve themselves, but it doesn't necessarily feel safe at any time of day. We wound up leaving a day early and going to a different hotel that was more comfortable in many ways.”

“It disappoints me to have to write such a bad review because I usually have no issues with the Hilton. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the past 4 weeks and have never had an issues. However, this last stay was a little scary. Before getting in the shower, I noticed that the glass door was off hinges. I immediately called the front desk and requested maintenance. I was told he was on the way at 10 am. No one came. I physically went to the front desk at 1 pm. I once again was told he would be coming soon. The third and final call was made at 5 pm. They apologize for the delay/inconvenience and said it was due to a “shift change”. The maintenance man finally arrives at 5:15 pm. He states that he would not be able to fix the door and would need a specialist. He says that we will be moved to another room and that he will be right back with the new room keys. He left he room for maybe 2 minutes and then the entire glass shower door completely hits the ground and shatters everywhere. Me or one of my family members could have easily been badly injured. We have about a 30 minute wait before being moved to a new room. I ask the front desk for a letter on Hilton letterhead which states I will not be charged for the damages but was denied a letter. Even after asking for 1 hour. The manager flat out said, “no, you won’t need one”, repeatedly. The entire situation was extremely dangerous and I do not believe the staff even cared. There was no empathy or understanding. They just wanted to me get out their faces. I just Thank God that no one was hurt. So I am writing this review to say, the prices of this hotel do not match the lack of hospitality or low quality rooms and facilities. STAY AWAY!!”
