Excellent hospitality and staff at this location. The young lady who checked us in was inviting and personable. The breakfast was a bit lacking, but that was the only downside to our stay. The pool was just big enough for our kids to play, the rooms were spacious and clean. They did a great job updating the property from when we stayed a few years back. Having the option to walk on the canal was great, and the access outside made it easier. We would stay here again!

I liked this hotel! The room reminds me of a tiny little studio apartment because of the small kitchen. The tv we had spun around which was cool so the person sitting in the living room could watch or the person in the bed. The bed was also comfortable, but the sofa bed was very thin and bumpy. This room is very up to date and did not look old at all! The view we had was a decent view of Indy and the walk to the canal is great because the hotel is right on the canal! They had good options for breakfast and a decent sitting area to eat. One downside is the parking is $30 a day, so remember that when booking. Another downside is the indoor pool wasn’t heated, even though the site and the front desk said it was. When it’s 30 degrees outside a cold pool isn’t the most fun. I wish this hotel had a hottub.

One of the loudest hotels I've been in. Heard everything at night, and I do mean everything. Floors clearly had no sound dampening, nor did the ceilings or walls. The only filtered water was in the basement in the gym, what the heck? And it still tasted disgusting!The breakfast was also a major letdown. Cold eggs and lukewarm, chewy bacon. The best aspects were a full refrigerator in the room and a perfect location in the city. I don't know if I'd stay here again, to be honest. I'd like them to really work on the drinking water situation. That shouldn't be a huge ask and is a vital thing.

Very nice hotel on the canal with recently remodeled rooms. We paid a few dollars more for the canal view and we are glad that we did. Few negatives were the $30 per night parking that we were not aware of until arrival and the bathroom design (shower and toilet room were so small it was difficult to find a place to stand while closing the door). Overall we were pleased and would stay there again.

It's not horrible. But it's definitely one of the lesser Marriott properties I've stayed in. Pros: The front desk staff is amazing. Sweet, accommodating etc. As is the one manager. Wish I got their names. The view and seating area from patio on canal is awesome. Super cool atmosphere. From the outside it looks like an awesome hotel. Then... CONS: 1st room we were given.. reeked of mold and mildew. I've never once complained of this in my life. Had to move rooms. 2nd room had no working AC.. They finally upgraded us to a 2 bedroom. It didn't smell and the AC worked. But the reality is that it's in desperate need of maintenance and care. Scratches on cabinets. The fridge and freezer smell bad. The curtains look old and dilapidated. The bedroom door won't stay closed. The bathrooms are run down with stains.. $30/ night to park your car. I know you can't screen guests or discriminate but some random lady who's clearly out of her mind on something asks me for a cigarette.. I said sure and gave her one. She proceeds to try lighting it right in the lobby by the elevator. Security is next to nothing. Finally their breakfast is the worst I've ever seen for a hotel. We are going on our second day and I really love the staff and views so I hate complaining about it but honestly. This is the worst Residence Inns I've stayed in. And arguably one of the worst Marriott properties I've stayed in.. and that's well over 100 from Indiana to Ohio to Florida to Kentucky. etc..etc Stayed here 8 years ago and it was nice.
