“Maiden Shanghai was amazing, food, service, the whole experience at dinner was superbe. Lessly, our server, was brilliant and really took good care of us. Thank you for a wonderful evening after an eccentric day! Unfortunately, there was a huge list of issues from the minute we got to the hotel. The room was filthy upon check-in, dirt and finger prints everywhere. We're in the middle of a pandemic and this is unacceptable. We changed rooms, an hour later we were assigned a new room, which smelled of cigarette smoke. Another hour later, and after numerous visits and phone calls from managers and housekeeping staff we changed rooms again, were given a 200 AED credit, and had to wait at the bar while the new room was being cleaned. “even one star is too much. that was my 2nd stay in this hotel and nothing has changed. People who are dressed in a higher quality are preferred, although there is actually no dress code. You are not served by the staff, you are ignored everywhere, even at the pool your order is not taken. As a guest at the hotel, I had to fight to get a table in the penthouse on my own birthday, with reservation. Everything here revolves around the external, as long as you don't walk around in high-quality clothing, you will be ignored in this hotel. It's the worst hotel, with the poorest service and very condescending. I've never been so humiliated as in this hotel. I would strongly advise against booking this hotel. the staff is very superficial and you are treated very badly if you walk around in jeans and a shirt. Not every guest at this hotel is treated equally. I was not even allowed before Corona to sit and wait in the lobby. I checked out 2 days earlier today because I couldn't stand this humiliation any longer. I've never given a bad rating but with this humiliation, i even created a google account .”
