“This beautiful, iconic hotel is grandeur and hospitality surrounded by some of the most awe-inspiring views in New Hampshire and beyond. While the craftsmanship of the hotel is definitively from a bygone era, the amenities are decidedly 21st century. From the first view of the hotel to the immensity of the great room foyer, everything is big and beautiful and this hotel seems to 'fit' within the vastness of the White Mountain ranges. The hotel was impressive in its grandeur. The decor maintained its antique motif without it feeling 'old' or outdated. It was kept up and the standards of the building preserved. We loved the historical significance and the hotel's desire to maintain, preserve and honor its original story. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Our room was not ready with some basic amenities. When we contacted guest services by room phone, our calls just rang and rang. It took several attempts to finally get things resolved. This is a high-end hotel - this should never be the case!”
