I had a great stay at the fifty hotel & suites by Affina. The room was very spacious and comfortable but the real highlight was the staff! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The doormen spend a good amount of time finding us a cab so we could catch our transportation at the end of the stay! Thank you for going this extra mile to make our stay special.

The location was great. The staff very nice. The room was also nice. The bed comfortable. The only downside was that street noises were near constant but, with the location one should expect some of that. A pleasant experience.

Security breach in our room when we returned from a night out. Thankfully nothing was missing but the management did not think it was worth more than an apology and one day's worth of a facility fee reimbursement. This was in addition to basic toiletries not being re-filled and torn towels. Not a great firstimpression and will certainly not be re-visiting or recommending.

When I checked out after a one-night stay with nearly $400 less to my name, I felt as if I had been robbed. You pay for the location - not the quality of the hotel. As mentioned in numerous reviews, the hotel rooms are outdated and unimpressive. The lobby was the only thing remotely near 4 star quality. I'm not even sure the rooms would pass as nice in the 1970's. The temperature control was abysmal. It was a cool spring night, but the room was scorching hot despite turning the heat down as low as possible. I felt like a rotisserie chicken. Eventually, we turned the heat off entirely but it was too little, too late. There was no A/C available for use. The iHome in the room did not function properly. On top of this, there was not enough body wash. There were about two squirts left in the bottle when we checked in. I did not find hotel management/employees to be particularly amiable. Only the doorman was especially polite and friendly. Do not stay at this hotel unless you get a sort of sick pleasure from being taken advantage of.

Great location, but the hotel itself is dated. The shower faucet fell off; there were spider web in the room. The sofa bed had socks and trash from previous occupants. Air vent in the shower was extremely dirty.

Our family of four had a long stay in a One-bedroom King Suite over the Christmas holidays. It's a modern hotel with a small, pleasant lobby, good lighting, three elevators, on a safe, well-lit, busy block. Overall it was a great stay, but there are a few things they could do to get to a solid 5-star rating.I'll start with the PROS: - Location, location, location. Seriously awesome spot with so many choices for easy, safe, and timely public transportation. The 4, 6, E, and M subway stops are a block or two away, and these are nicer stations that were safe and busy, even late at night. The uptown buses on 3rd and Madison Avenues, and the downtown buses on 2nd and Lexington Avenues, all run very regularly. We got the 7-day Unlimited passes from MTA (buy at a subway station), and used CityMapper or Apple Maps on our phones to figure out routes to our destinations and back. We got a ton of use from these! There is also a Walgreen's around the corner, which is always handy. Easy walk to Grand Central, Rockefeller, St. Patrick's, MoMA,and the 5th Avenue shops. - Friendly, responsive staff. The lobby personnel and housekeeping were awesome. They brought stuff up pretty quickly when we needed something (towels, TP, kitchen stuff, etc.). Everyone always greeted you with a genuine smile. - Kitchenette. While we did not cook any major meals, it was great to have a small fridge, microwave, sink, 2-burner stove, and dishwasher in our room. We ordered groceries ahead of time and had them delivered via Instacart the day of our arrival. We always had breakfast in the room: cereal, toast, bagels (Ess-a-Bagel is across the street), instant oatmeal. There is a small toaster and coffee maker in the room. - Big bathroom. When it's just myself and my husband sometimes the quaint, boutique hotels are a fun change. But those little sinks with almost no counter space would not work with us and our two teen girls. The tub/shower and toilet were fine, and the sink with a long counter plus open shelves beneath were great for all our toiletries.Okay, now the CONS: - I booked us a One-Bedroom Suite - King Bed. In the photos on their site it shows an L-shaped sectional sofa and a good-sized dining table with four dining chairs in a separate dining nook. Our room did not have all that. The sofa was just a regular sofa, not a sectional. The dining area was a tiny table about 2' in diameter with only two small "dining" chairs, and not in any kind of "nook," but against a small wall next to the kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom were great, but the living area was nowhere near what the photos showed. It was way more cramped and smaller than what we were expecting; it certainly did not feel like a 750 sq ft room. I would have complained but we got in 2 hours later than expected and it was late, and our groceries had already arrived. We just made do. But that was a major bummer and a disappointment. - A little upgrade on the kitchenette is in order. Yes, there was a toaster and a coffeemaker, which was nice. BUT...a nicer toaster that could actually fit a bagel would be even better. The toaster was so old and small, with burned edges all around. The coffeemaker was sufficient, but if Affinia would upgrade it to at least a Keurig, it would work and taste a lot better. When we got in there was one glass, two mugs, and a bunch of spoons. We had to ask for more drink ware, forks, and knives (which they did bring quickly). The dishwasher's bottom rack was also completely off the rails, literally. To pull it in or out you had to lift it and put it on the door; it no longer slid on the rails properly.Would we stay there again? Probably, next time we go again as a family. Our kids love NYC and now that they're older it's so easy to bring them and enjoy more. Next time, though, when booking this same room I will definitely clarify room size and amenities. Would love it, though, if they spruced up some of the kitchen issues I mentioned.

We had a great experience at The Fifty on January 7, 2022. Starting from when we checked in, the person at the front desk was friendly, professional, and quick. Lobby was clean and sleek looking. Our room on the 18th floor was amazing - huge!!! We had a giant balcony with a beautiful view of the city. We were staying one night, and didn’t need the kitchen amenities but if we needed a place to stay a few nights, we would have taken advantage of it. Everything was clean and the king sized bed was comfortable. Woke up with a gorgeous easterly view of the sunrise. What a nice surprise (I know that isn’t the hotels doing, but it was a nice touch). Check out was simple and the doorman was very nice when we left offering directions if we needed and a taxi. We would 100% go back, and recommend for anyone looking for a great hotel midtown. We happened to be seeing a show on Broadway, and we’re able to easily walk to the theatre.

Let me start with the very best thing about this hotel; Rome(the doorman) - he is extremely friendly, professional and very helpful!! Moving around the city and sight seeing was much easier thanks to him! He is phenomenal, truly a rare find & completely embodies what the hospitality industry should be. The rest of the staff was friendly as well. Other wise, affordable, close proximity to the things you'd likely have on your agenda is wonderful - very easy to walk to a lot of destinations. The lobby is cute, nicely decorated & the fire place makes for a cozy place to relax, however the rooms are slightly dated and could use and upgrade….they are however clean, and well stocked. Overall we had a great experience and would return!

Friendly staff and specious and clean rooms compared to other New York hotels. Great location. They can keep your baggage before or after checking in the hotel for free.

If you are looking for a good priced hotel- there are way better hotels around the area for the same price. Very old, they seemed to have done a renovation some time ago and then stopped caring for the hotel. Hallways are very “The Shinning” like. Room thermostats cannot be truly adjusted, usually the room gets too hot because it has a movement sensor (if you are asleep, there is no movement, and hence the ac will go to auto or turn off by default).

Stay elsewhere to avoid covid. Do not comply nor enforce NYVC covid safety indoor rules. With travelers coming from around the world you'd think the Affinia management would enforce guests to wear masks but no.

Quarto bom e espaçoso. Mas atendimento ruim e nao cortês. Taxas surpresa. E não facilitam a vida do cliente mesmo pagando antecipadamente a estadia. Não me deixaram entrar no quarto enquanto meu cartão de crédito não funcionou. Só quando paguei o dobro em dinheiro por uma taxatde danos que me liberaram. Grande stress logo na chegada.

I booked this hotel through Groupon for one night (10/9-10/10) and paid approximately $682. When I tried to check in at the hotel I was told that there were no Reservations under my name. I then I asked for the manager who was rude and dismissive. The staff told me that they have been having issues with Groupon notifying the hotel when someone is staying and booking through Groupon. I asked if there were any other rooms available and they said no. I then asked because I am out of state and was only staying there for one night for them to assist me with other hotels. The manager and staff were completely dismissive. At one point the manager looked over at me and said is there something else I can help you with as if I was bothering him while I was quietly looking at other sites to find a hotel. As a nurse who has worked during the entire COVID pandemic I was disgusted by the lack of customer service. I visited New York for 1 night stay for my sons 17th birthday. It took me hours to find another hotel. This hotels management was deplorable. The arrogance that I encountered was disgusting.

By far the worst hotel I've ever book in my entire life. The first room was dirty and had no towels. There were bugs flying around in the room. Requested a new room and that room had hair on the bed when I walked in. Check out of the hotel that night and they did not even want to refund me my money. I will never stay here again. Classic bait and switch with these pictures and reviews.

Highly recommend you stay here. I haven't had a pleasure to stay yet but booked a reservation. I ran into a financial family issues and the manger went above and beyond to assist me.

Stayed here for two weeks and can't recommend it enough. Spacious rooms, excellent room service, pleasant door men. The TVs are also stream capable and can even be used to pleasantly wake you up.

We stayed in the hotel 2weeks in 2 separate rooms, Excellent rooms, very comfortable, great kitchen, modern designed, great location in Manhattan, staff is super friendly and helpful especially the manager Rayen. Really recommend this hotel!!

The king bedroom that was provided looked in bad condition, with everything old. The room was also very small, the blinds were dirty and didn't cover the entire length of the window. The speed of the AC cannot be adjusted which was a nuisance during the night. The direct adjacency with 3rd Ave makes the rooms very noisy. I will not be staying here the next time I visit NYC.

Buena atención

The shower head in the bathroom is old / outdated and doesn’t work well. Some of the light fixtures do not work in the room. The coffee machine did not work in the room. The AC in our room is not strong at all. The hallways are so hot no AC! The price we paid was not worth it. I’ve stayed in hotels nicer for less the money.

To begin, the hotel took out a $300 security deposit, $100 for each night we were staying there, and promised we would get it back as long as we did not damage the room. However, my friend and I only were in the room to sleep and did not leave any damages and never got our security deposit back. The hotel said we should contact our bank to receive the deposit back but we were told by our bank the money had DISAPPEARED. Therefore instead of it being a hold, it was a charge even though the hotel said AFTER we even checked out we would get our money back. We also received a knock on the door when we were late for check-out that if we came down in the next ten minutes that we would not be charged a late check-out fee which is a fee equal to half a night's stay. However, regardless of the fact that we were down in FIVE minutes we were still charged the late check-out fee. The hotel could not refund us because they said they were unsure which employee told us we would not be charged. Overall, a scam. The neighborhood and rooms are clean and nice and come with a kitchen. But that is it. I will not be staying here again!

No es un hotel de lujo. Descuidado con mantenimiento básico. La habitación estaba limpia solo en lo superficial. Debajo del sofá cama ( que no tenia sabanas) medias olvidadas por otros pasajeros, papeles de golosinas, mugre de todo tipo. Ante el reclamo... Tres días para resolverlo. Hotel bastante básico!!! Esperaba mas!!!

Experiencia maravillosa! Hotel totalmente aconsejable. Personal cálido, atención personalizada, sumamente acogedor, práctico, cómodo, fácil. La ubicación es inmejorable. Las habitaciones limpias, bien iluminadas, con un baño excelente. Secador de pelo (de los buenos) plancha y tabla para planchar, cafetera para te o café sumamente útil. La caja fuerte de buen tamaño en la que se puede guardar ordenadores, equipo de fotos, todo!. Repetiría sin dudarlo.
