“First of all, the hotel room was subpar. But, our biggest concern beginning before we left for dinner on our second night was party that took place on the floor below us. The bass and music were so loud our floors shook, tv vibrated and buzzed and there was no rest to be had. Obviously, there wasn’t as much to be concerned about at 5 pm due to the time of day although it was still extremely loud for one to hear in a hotel room. However, it became a great nuisance because the party continued long after we returned from dinner. We were told the party would end at 10:30 pm. We needed to go to bed at 9:00 which did not happen and was not possible due to the noise. We had an early morning event the next day followed by a 7-8 hour drive home. The hotel staff was unapologetic and apathetic stating there was nothing they could do but that we had to deal with it until the party ended. I do believe the staff asked the party to turn the volume down a couple of times. However, a minute later the volume would increase to a level higher than it was before. Our room would shake and vibrate more. No action was taken by the staff against the party for their noncompliance with requests. One other guest from another room went downstairs to wait out the event. We were actually made to feel bad for asking them to have the music turned down so we could sleep. This hotel is not one made with ballrooms and meeting rooms separate from sleeping areas. We felt as though we were at the party ourselves. We were unable to sleep. In no way, should a party of this magnitude and noise level been scheduled at this hotel. It was not equipped to handle such a party based on the location of the meeting room to actual guest rooms. If you want an great staff who who care about comfort of their guests, this is not your hotel. If you need a place you can get a good night of sleep, this is not your hotel. But, if you want to throw a loud party, book your stay now. If I could give the hotel a 0 rating, I would. I have never rated any establishment before publicly. However, I felt I needed to because our experience here was so terrible I wanted others to be aware of this before booking here. There are multiple other hotels within a minute of this hotel that would be better options to consider before booking here.”

“My daughter and I stayed in this hotel because we were in town for a weekend of soccer games and it was our team's assigned hotel. We typically like to stay in Marriott brand hotels and expect (and usually have!) excellent experiences. Our room is right by the elevator which was pretty loud, so I asked to switch rooms when we first arrived. I was told that the hotel was fully booked for the evening and I didn't have an option to change. As our stay progressed, I have noticed more and more unclean areas of our room - they're actually disgusting (stuff smeared on the walls in the bathroom that wiped off with a wet wipe (GROSS!!), lots of dust and dirt around edges of beds/baseboards, unclean shower, stains on the bedding) . I went back to the front desk today and asked to switch rooms again and the person at the desk responded to my request with "I am surprised you didn't ask to move rooms yesterday." There was no apology or we're sorry you're having a bad experience, let me see what I can do to help (sending up another cleaning crew would have been a great gesture) but instead he questioned me for not asking to move sooner. I explained that I HAD already requested to move and was told it was not an option - neither time was any note made of my room number nor my name. I am not only disappointed by the state of room, but I am also extremely disappointed and bothered by the lack of customer service. This Fairfield is located in a neighborhood full of hotels - lots of other great options. I'd pick somewhere else even if it's a bit more expensive!!”
