“We reserved a preferred club and upgraded our room to a corner suite. By the end of the first day our ceiling was leaking from the AC and parts of the ceiling was falling down. The couch in the room was severely stained too. I complained to the front desk. They resolved all the problems the next day. However, they only offered a $50 refund of the $300+ dollars i paid to be upgraded. I explained this was a hazard because i had toddlers in my room as well as a extreme inconvenience.I didn't want to spend my whole vacation arguing, so I let it go. However, i was extremely disappointed!”

“First, the positives. This resort is beautiful. The beach is white sand, spacious, and the water is calm and warm. I really enjoyed the infinity pool. The food was absolutely wonderful, even though they are offering limited options during COVID-19. I'm sure it's even better during normal circumstances. Having both a snack bar and drink bar close to the pools is convenient too. The entertainment staff (especially Sabrina and Jennifer) were so much fun and funny! As for the room, pretty standard for an all-inclusive, so good. Even though the room we were in was described as a "partial ocean view" it had pretty much a full view of the ocean. It was directly out our window. Not sure how it wasn't at least ocean view, if not almost ocean front. Any stay here would be enjoyed, unless your standards are ridiculous.
A couple of negatives(?) or at least some things to note. The most obvious was the incessant sales pitches from the staff from start to finish during our stay. They tell you when you go to Cancun to watch out for the timeshare people, but the worst for us was the actual employees at the resort! We couldn't even lay on the beach, return our towels, or walk through the lobby without someone hounding us to pay for an excursion, water sports, or even book a future stay at an AM resorts property. It was very annoying.
Secondly was the front desk not offering any upgrades. The resort was only at 35% capacity, and yet they tried to make us pay hundreds of dollars for any upgrades we asked for (separate rooms, higher floor/better view, preferred club, or getting a room with a balcony). Clearly they had the rooms available because they tried charging us to upgrade to them. I have NEVER stayed at ANY resort that said no to an upgrade if they had it available.
Last thing was the main pool was heated, and that was the only pool with a swim-up bar. I don't feel like sitting in a heated pool in 100-degree weather to be able to enjoy the swim-up bar, so I missed out on that this stay. But that's just a personal preference. If you like heated pools, you'll be fine. I just spent my time in the infinity, which I preferred anyway. It was less crowded and had different depths so you could sit, stand, or swim whenever you wanted.
All-in-all, we had a great time and enjoyed the resort. I honestly would have given this a 5-star review if it wasn't for everybody who worked at the resort trying to sell you stuff CONSTANTLY. I'm used to getting sales pitches a little bit here and there, but this was the worst of any resort I've stayed at, and it wasn't even close.”
