The pool door would not unlock, for me or the staff, so the pool was useless. This was a known issue for over 2 weeks. The continental breakfast was $10 per person and not appealing. The hotel was under renovation and this was never mentioned or posted while making my reservation. The ONLY good things were the politeness of the staff and the cookies. Extremely disappointed in our experience.

There was no operating bistro/bar, there was an ongoing significant renovation, digital key and room key didn't work on the side doors, room had an odor, tv was flickering and went to dim, furniture and carpet removal in hallways and parking lot and a mess at times. It was apparent by the room condition that the place was due for a renovation - well-used. I understand this transition would be difficult for a business to keep customers happy, but why isn't it possible to simply offer lower rates in advance while being transparent with the condition of the hotel in advance? This would have been fine rather than being surprised and disappointed at arrival. I did get a discounted rate which made me feel better. Staff was friendly considering they must have to be dealing with plenty of complaints.

We stayed here just this last weekend for our daughter's cheer practice. I was aware the hotel is under renovations. We had a late check in after driving 3 hours. The hostess was nice and the complimentary cookies were great. Our room was really dirty, the shower leaked and the toilet was not cleaned from whoever stayed before us or from a housekeeper? The curtains were also stained and torn. I hope once renovations are complete, the hotel isn't like this again. The beds were comfy but the pillows... I won't get into that.

Only giving one star because the staff was nice. This hotel will most likely be nice someday. It was purchased by Hilton, Priorly a Phoenix Inn and has a long way to go because of Covid getting in the way or renovating. We booked a stay got there and checked in went to our room skeptical along the way cause of the renovations, 10 dollars per person for breakfast and the 10 dollars to park. We went in the room and looked around. Furniture was peeling off finishes, the carpet was peeling off the floor, the wallpaper was all wrinkled in a corner the inside of the toilet was all stained. I could name more but you get my point. We turned around a checked out and came to the home2 here in Salem instead which is beautiful. In the future when we know the renovations are all done I will ask to view a room first and maybe actually come and stay. I just want everyone to know what to expect and you can decide from there yourself with a heads up before booking.

I was traveling down for work and had a mix up with the third party booking agent so when I arrived my reservation didn’t show up! The front desk woman, Katie, was persistent in helping me and even got on the phone with the third party to make sure she was able to get me into a room! It was a lovely room with great breakfast in the morning! I was just so appreciative for Katie because it was such a long day of travel and I really wasn’t sure what could be done but she made it happen!! Will absolutely recommend this place!
