Brief information about the hotel

Situated in the centre of Taunton, the hotel is steeped in the drama and romance of English history. Once a Norman fortress, it has been welcoming travellers to the town since the 12th century. Owned by the Chapman family for the past 50 years, it is one of Britain's most famous historic hotels. For those who wish to spoil themselves this is one of only a handful of hotels in the Southwest which has a red AA rosette for food. Due to the age of the hotel and its style, the bedrooms are all different sizes and shapes, however, all are well furnished.
