Hotel José Nogueira. History and charm in the heart of Punta Arenas. In Punta Arenas downtown, one of the first buildings in all of Patagonia is located. This is the centenary mansion of Don José Nogueira and Doña Sara Braun, two people who "wrote " the history of Patagonia with their own adventures. Over the years, Hotel José Nogueira has become for many, the most characteristic building in Punta Arenas, highlighted by its beautiful setting with by the Plaza Muñoz Gamero and surrounded by historical buildings declared as national monuments too. Bar Shackleton, A bar with history, in the past Mrs. Sara Braun´s dining room. Ernest Henry Shackleton was an Anglo-Irish explorer and one of the main characters of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. Our bar is named in honor of the journey made in 1916 by this expeditionary.
