This hideaway from the hustle is located in the historic Drostdy Quarter of Swellendam, amid an always blooming garden of indigenous plants and flowers that provides a true African backdrop to the property. From the exterior of the original 1802 homestead, to the fantastic interior, which reflects the personal journeys of the owners, this hotel is no ordinary accommodation establishment. Guests will be surprised that there is no reception and no formalities. They will be personally greeted by the owner and soon will realize they don't feel like staying at a hotel, but rather like staying with friends. For a true immersion into the local culture, they should visit the on-site restaurant, which focuses on pan-African cuisine, and try the small but exquisite selection of homemade white and red coupage wines.
